planned cosplays
my planned and upcoming cosplays, including details and progress! i used to cosplay more in the past, but stopped about 10 years ago due to personal reasons. i exclusively made my cosplays from scratch before, and i still intend to make some cosplays myself. however, buying and modifying cosplays is something i've been working on allowing myself to do as a way to recover from my perfectionism ocd surrounding cosplay.

the newest cosplay added to the list! i kept thinking about how fun her outfit would be to sew and wear while rewatching the show recently. when i mentioned wanting to cosplay her to my partner, they said that they'd cosplay himmel with me too; so technically i'll be sewing his outfit too, with my partner helping me with the prop work for frieren! my sister also mentioned wanting to cosplay fern for halloween, so it'd be fun to cosplay with her, too.
noted progress: patterns researched, nothing purchased yet.
Aradia Megido | Homestuck

full circle homestuck moment... my partner and i realized that we were actually at the same homestuck gathering at a con way back before we even met each other, so we decided that we definitely need to cosplay homestuck together one day! we were cosplaying different characters back then, but aradia and sollux are our favorites, and (kind of) our zodiac signs (my partner is a gemini; i'm a pisces, but i'm an aries rising). astrology is all fake, but it's kind of a fun coincidence.
noted progress: nothing purchased yet. will probably pattern from scratch.
Kocho Shinobu | Demon Slayer

technically i've already finished this cosplay, but i have yet to wear it in a group. it was the first cosplay i ever bought, in my first attempt to reconnect with why i got into cosplay: having fun with my friends. the cosplay itself was fine and functional, but not to my standards, so i did some heavy modifications to it (modifying the sleeves, adding pockets, adding bust darts, updating notions/hardware, etc) to update the wearability. also very funny that my favorite character is shinobu and my partner's is giyuu, but we don't ship them lmao. platonic cosplay!!
Okkotsu Yuta | Jujutsu Kaisen

i bought the jacket from stitch spring, so it's garment-quality and doesn't require any modifications! the rest of his outfit will be things already from my wardrobe, since they're so basic. if anything, i'll have to make his sword carrying case. my partner has mentioned wanting to cosplay choso, so i'll help them make that cosplay too, and they also mentioned wanting to make a rika prop to puppet too!
noted progress: jacket acquired. wig purchased, but needs styling. sword and sword carrying case still needed.
Glamrock Chica | FNAF: Security Breach

after seeing so many cosplays at last year's living tombstone concert, my partner and i want to wear something fun for this year's concert! we're doing gijinka/bounds for the characters, using stuff we already have/thrifted, and then making accessories. i'm still undecided if i want to wear a wig for this, since october is still pretty hot here and concerts get sweaty.
noted progress: outfit planned, and main pieces already owned (pink TLT overshirt, hot pink tank top, pink skirt). i plan on cropping the TLT shirt so that the pink tank top can layer underneath. i still need to decide on the rest of my accessories and make them.
